This Backstep Forward is a follow up to this week’s Dad’s Letter, “The Greatest Growth Asset, Contented Discontentment.”

Backstep - Contentment

Where are you currently focusing too much on discontentment? Do you wish you lived somewhere else without remembering the many blessings of your current living situation? Do you long for more resources but forget to slow down and enjoy what your current resources provide for you now? Step back, be thankful, and enjoy the good of where you are in life.

Forward - Discontentment

Where do you need a kick in the pants?! Think about the skills, opportunities, and resources that are available uniquely to you. What have you longed or felt called to do but have let time pass without pursuing it? Where have you settled for lazy contentment when you have the responsibility to yourself and others to give 100% and move forward?! Fear of failure is a poor excuse. Most things worth pursuing have some sort of failure as a significant stepping stone to something great.
